A Study on the Population Increase Effect by Introducing LRT using CUE model


The local cities in Japan experience the increase of the burden of infrastructure maintenance expenses accompanying declining population and urban sprawl as the prominent issues. As to solve these issues, the number of municipalities targeting compact city is increasing. In order for the compact cities to be materialized, it is desirable for the residents to voluntarily live in the aggregated area by providing the improved public transport services, yet the influence of light rail transit (LRT) on aggregate population is often unclear. Therefore, this research aims to quantitatively grasp the population retention effect of LRT installation by predicting population distribution after LRT introduction by using Control the User Experience (CUE) model of land use traffic model.我が国の地方都市では,少子化による人口減少や都市のスプロール化に伴うインフラ維持費用の負担増加が課題になっている.このような課題の解決の為に,コンパクトシティを目標に掲げる自治体が増加している.コンパクトシティを実現させるためには,公共交通のサービス向上によって,住民が自発的に集約エリアに居住することが望ましいが,LRTが人口集約に与える影響については不明瞭な点が多い.そこで本研究では,土地利用交通モデルの一つであるCUEモデルを用いてLRT導入後の人口分布を予測することで,LRT導入による人口保持効果を定量的に把握することを目的とする.
