CONTAINER TERMINALS: SAFE WORKING PRACTICES
Practical guidance is given to employers and workers concerned with handling freight containers in docks and other terminals where straddle carriers and other mechanical handling appliances are used. Nine sections cover the container terminal area, movement control systems, drivers' medical requirements and training, all aspects of container handling in the terminal, operational and safe areas, and control procedures in emergencies. The Appendix describes a model permit-to-enter system.
