STEEL PLATE GIRDERS
This paper discusses the experimental behaviour of four plate girders tested at the University of Canterbury. Although the girders were designed to current standards, the behaviour under service loads was not completely satisfactory, with large yielded areas occurring under small overloads, and even though the ultimate loads were accurately predicted the load factors against collapse were fairly low.
