GRAVEL-CEMENT: (2) MANUFACTURE, LAYING AND BEHAVIOUR WHEN YOUNG. PROPORTION OF CEMENT AND WATER IN GRAVEL-CEMENT DEPENDING ON THE CATEGORY OF MIXING PLANT. SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS

GRAVES-CIMENT: 2) FABRICATION, MISE EN OEUVRE ET COMPORTEMENT AUX JEUNES AGES - DOSAGES EN CIMENT ET EN EAU DE GRAVES-CIMENT PAR CLASSE DE CENTRALE-SYNTHESE DES CONSTATATIONS

This summary of observations covers over ten years of controls of gravel-cement supply for various sites for new construction or maintenance operations. These controls were mainly for checking cement and water proportioning. Mean proportions and dispersions were established for each mixing plant category, according to the instructions given in Volume 25: "Construction of Pavement Structures" of the volume of common specifications. It appears that under the special conditions of the contracts and controls carried out, the average proportioning is equal to that recommended for whatever type of mixing plant. On the other hand scattering varies with the category of equipment. (TRRL)
