VERSATILE MEDIUM GIRDER BRIDGE
The medium girder bridge, an aluminum alloy, hand-built bridge that recently has entered military service in the United States is described. The span junction set includes the span junction bay, which provides a hinge between two spans and consists of span junction posts pinned together at the top, with a link that can be pinned across the bottom to allow the bay to pass over rollers during construction. Trailer-launched pontoons, placement of piers and reinforcement sets are outlined.
