COURSES FOR OFFENDING MOTORISTS. MODEL TESTS IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY

KURSE FUER AUFFAELLIGE KRAFTFAHRER. MODELLVERSUCHE IN DER BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND

The author presents a review of all the measures which have been considered or which are being tried out in the Federal Republic of Germany for improving the behaviour in traffic of drivers committing motoring offences. The measures are aimed at juvenile offending learner-drivers with specifically juvenile defects in attitudes and experience, older offenders (recognisable by their previous convictions) and finally the motorists involved in offences due to alcohol, subdivided into first and repeated offenders. The various models are described. They all have in common the attempt to correct the particular type of misbehaviour which characterises the group of offenders by the most suitable methods. (TRRL)
