TRAFFIC EDUCATION MEANS "LIFE"
This article describes in detail an approach to and the establishment of a traffic education course in a primary school. A description is given of the school classes and the school's traffic environment. Children's limited awareness of danger and knowledge of correct action in traffic situations are considered. Based on the green cross code, art and English lessons included elements of traffic education. A description is given of conspicuity experiments, children's selection of safe play areas, and group practice of safely crossing a main road. Accident statistics are included in the study. (TRRL)
