INTERCITY 79 IN EUROPE
INTERCITY 79 IN EUROPA
Apart from first class trains operating since 1957 under the initials TEE in 7 European countries, national inter-city trains with a 2nd-class section have also existed for some time on some European railways. With the introduction of the "IC 79" System in May 1979 the DB now has one of the most modern long-distance transport systems. The UIC is already working on plans for a similar system for international inter-city routes.
