FENCES HELP CHANGE SNOW FROM LIABILITY TO ASSET
Snow removal is probably the one road and street operation that makes the greatest demands on men, equipment and budgets of responsible governmental departments. A new method of snow control, however, appears to offer some relief to winter-strained budgets in the use of radically changed snow fences, together with the manner of their application based on scientific analyses. Actually, these studies and the research of the past few years have brought snow control into the area of a science by determining why snow does what it does under given conditions and by establishing scientific methods of making snow -- in many cases -- an asset rather than a costly liability.
