RESIN ROCK BOLTING
The article clarifies design procedures for rock bolting using resin anchors for ground engineering applications. In the design of a resin anchor system the application and ultimate loads should be defined. Design factors are divided into two sections - the first covers the design of rock bolts to anchor into rock while the second covers the design of rock bolts to reinforce rock for structural support. Two methods of installation are described - by the use of resin capsules, and by resin injection and pourable resins. The aspect of corrosion protection of rock bolts for permanent support is also considered. (TRRL)
