PNEUMATIC RELAY VALVES IN ASSOCIATION WITH AUTOMATIC COMPRESSED AIR DISTRIBUTOR VALVES
All the types of relay valves which are dealt with in this article were designed by and are made by the Wabco-Westinghouse Company in France. Pneumatic relay valves of comparable design are used to adapt the braking effort to the speed of the vehicle or for the substitution of the braking effort from a dynamic brake for that of an air brake or for the combination of the braking efforts from both types of brake. The fitting of them to high speed vehicles and train sets, to coaches and to air or vacuum braked cars is discussed in detail.
