Australian code for the transport of dangerous goods by road and rail

This Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road & Rail, commonly known as the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (edition 7.5, 2017) sets out the requirements for transporting dangerous goods by road and rail. The Code can be used from 1 July 2018 and is compulsory from 1 July 2019. Until then, either the Code edition 7.5 or the Code edition 7. 6 can be used. The Code is an important technical resource to help Australia’s transport and logistics industry to operate safely when carrying dangerous goods. It is important that all members of the supply chain understand and work to the requirements of the Code, including the consignor, packer, truck driver and dangerous goods transport companies, along with dangerous goods professionals and trainers. The Code is aligned to the United Nations recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Model Regulations (20th edition) and also includes specific provisions that better reflect current Australian practices and conditions.
