In the driving of the Mitterberg Tunnel certain quantiative and qualitative deviations between the rock conditions actually encountered and those predicted in the tender documents have led to difficulties. An attempt is made, from the engineering geology viewpoint, to highlight some of these difficulties and thus to determine some guidelines for the improvement of future geological investigations (TRRL)
