SWEDISH SHIPOWNERS PUBLISH "WHITE BOOK"

An economic analysis of 12 Swedish shipping companies is given and their future prospects evaluated. A study of 13 small firms has also been prepared, and this shows that small firms are in trouble. State support and a "White Book" published by the Swedish Shipowner's Association to encourage this are discussed. A state-owned leasing company which would finance and own new buildings is proposed, and the operation of such a company is outlined. Order from NSFI as No. 18954.
