Maclay Highline Makeover
Looking to accommodate excess flows from the Los Angeles Aqueduct, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power turned to the Maclay Highline, a dormant system once used to convey water from the aqueduct to the outer reaches of Los Angeles. After an inspection discovered significant damage to the system, the department conducted extensive repairs to enable the Maclay Highline to be returned to service when needed.
