RIGID PIPE PROOF TESTING UNDER EXCESS OVERFILLS WITH VARYING BACKFILL PARAMETERS. SECTION IV (VOLUME 1): ANALYSIS OF EMBANKMENT MATERIALS, SOILS BY KONDNER-DUNCAN MODEL MODEL

Twelve soil samples taken at various depths of a deep highway embankment at Cross Canyon, Route 07-LA-210, were analyzed using the Kondner-Duncan soil model, in which stress-strain curves from unconsolidated - undrained triaxial tests are approximated by regression hyperbolae. The report also discusses analyses of three low modulus inclusions place in the embankment. Results of the analyses were used in the application of finite element analyses to the embankment and two culverts embedded therein. (FHWA)
