EL TRANSPORTE EN COLOMBIA: PROBLEMAS Y PERSPECTIVAS

The 14th National Civil Engineering Congress took place at Cali (Colombia) from 4 to 8th October 1978 and was entitled: "Transport in Colombia: Problems and Perspectives". The Planning Unit of the Ministry of Public Works and Colombian Transport outlined the methodology used in the development of the national transport plan. Details are given of the conditions of the national network, the infrastructure of the various transport systems, and their respective costs: roads, railways, rivers and harbours. The methods employed to determine modal split are explained. Urban transport problems were studied, and several solutions were compared. One of the studies presented dealt with the departure frequency of an urban bus line. (TRRL)
