CHILD RESTRAINT WORKSHOP SERIES. VOLUME I

The purpose of the workshops was to improve the effectiveness of grass roots organizations in ongoing child restraint programs, to begin coordination efforts within the states, and to involve other grass root supports to increase the number of organizations actively involved in the child passenger safety area. During each two day workshop representatives from various service organizations, health care professions, state legislatures and law enforcement along with highway safety officials were presented with facts about the extent of the problem and its solution followed by discussion of the various types of programs which promote child restraint usage - legislative, education and distribution. Volume I contains details about the planning and implementation of the workshops. Workshop planning details include selection of dates and locations, identification of participants, determination of program format and content, and preparation of workshop materials. Implementation details include an extensive outline of workshop topics and highlights, and the trends of each particular workshop.
