DWI Dashboard Strategic Guide: Addressing Gaps in the DWI System
The Traffic Injury Research Foundation along with the Driving While Impaired (DWI) Working Group on System Improvements developed the DWI Dashboard tool in 2013 to help States evaluate and assess their impaired driving systems. This report is based on Proceedings of the 11th Annual Working Group on DWI System Improvements which was held September 23rd - 25th, 2014 in San Diego, California. For each section of the DWI dashboard it discusses strategies, best practices, resources, and caveats. Topics include: leadership; data collection; communication and information sharing; resources; environment and contextual factors; costs of impaired driving to offenders; DWI countermeasures; education and prevention; and practitioner education, training, and turnover.
