2016 Annual Ignition Interlock Survey: United States

A national survey of the number of installed and active ignition interlocks in the United States was conducted from January 1, 2015 through August 31, 2016. The data collected provides a comprehensive picture of ignition interlock installations across the United States and serves as a useful benchmark for State ignition interlock program administrators and the impaired driving community to measure interlock usage and growth in interlock programs on an annual basis. Data includes: State arrest data, conviction data, installation data by State and manufacturer, percentage of interlocks installed per (driving while impaired) DWI arrest or conviction, and number of interlock offenders completing the program. An appendix includes State interlock laws as of February 2017.
