DEVELOPMENT OF LOUVERED SIGNS TO REDUCE WIND LOAD

A louvered sign 8 feet high and 12 feet wide was tested in comparison with a standard sign. While the anticipated reduction of wind pressure of about 50% was obtained for normal wind loads, the transverse wind load was about equal to that of the normal wind loads. The study results indicate that application appears limited.
