EVALUATION OF PORT FUNCTIONING CHARACTERISTICS
The article describes the main features of a general computer applied simulation model for determining traffic situations under complex operation conditions. The model permits a distinction to be made between different classes of ships and also an explicit specification of the class of ship-to-berth assignment scheme. The pattern of ship arrivals and ships service times suffer random variations in accordance with predefined distribution functions. The influence of periodic inclement weather on function of the port may be taken into consideration.
