A More Positive Situation

Class I railroads are working towards positive train control (PTC) implementation after the federal deadline was extended to 2018. The extension has relieved pressure from many railroads, allowing them to advance without running into major problems. As part of the installation process, railroads are running tests and working on interoperability. Though significant progress has been made, more will be necessary in order for railroads around the nation to meet the deadline.
