Signal Analysis of Radar Echoes from the Overhead Power Cable
送電線からのレーダ反射信号の解析
The authors previously tried to formularize the signal intensity of the radar echoes from the overhead power cable above Kurushima Kaikyo Channel and from the small fishing craft and pleasure boats along the Channel. And the authors consequently reported the difference of features and the similarities of the echoes by comparative evaluation in fixed quantity regarding the space distribution of the echoes. In this study, the authors review the detailed formularization of radar signal intensity of the cable with the data from other sea area, and the following results have been found. 1) It is effective to find the length of power cable related to the reflection by the model gained as the size of the first Fresnel zone than by the length gained with the horizontal beam width as a function. 2) The changes of signal intensity with actual data can be explained by the model considering the influence of cross protection between the reflection waves by sea clutter and the actual waves. 3) The proposed model is versatile without locality of sea area.
