IMAGE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Person to person communication provides for the easiest transfer of information. Distances in large shipbuilding activities often make this difficult. So an image communication system employing television techniques was installed for in-plant and between plant communication. Thus a production man with a question on a drawing can show and ask a designer a question and receive a spoken and visual reply without the need to travel. Additions to the system can also provide for safeguarding shop operations, for security surveillance, and for various kinds of process control. The details of the T.V. equipment and its installation are described in this paper.
