On the Evaluation of Pilots' Maneuvering for Collision Avoidance by Using OZT

水先人のためのOZTを用いた避航操船の評価について

Since 2007, the pilot training system was started and the people without the experience of boarding can become pilot. Now the system applies the simulator training. The simulator helps the trainees realize so-called “Seamanship” which cannot be obtained only by the classroom lectures. However, it is very difficult to judge the trainees’ skills through their maneuvering on the simulator. Therefore, in this study it is considered to use Obstacle Zone of Target (OZT) when evaluating the results of simulation by using OZT. This paper shows the details of this consideration.
