CONTRIBUTIONS ON SOME CURRENT PROBLEMS OF SHIP RESISTANCE
Several aspects of the complete ship-resistance problem, considering the effects of viscosity and turbulence, and employing the exact boundary conditions on the ship-hull surface and on the free surface, were treated. Expressions derived for the variation of head in the wake in terms of the viscous and Reynolds stresses were applied in the formulation of nonlinear boundary conditions on the free surface, and a correction to the Jones formula for viscous drag.
