AUTOMOBILE CRASH SENSOR SIGNAL PROCESSOR

The crash sensor signal processor described interfaces between an automobile-installed doppler radar and an air bag activating solenoid or equivalent electromechanical device. The processor utilizes both digital and analog techniques to produce an output pulse when specified input signal amplitude and frequency conditions are met. The device is intended to be implemented with monolithic MOS large scale integrated circuitry and bipolar driver. The design and reliability studies indicate that very low cost and very high reliability can be achieved concurrently by monolighic techniques without compromising processor performance.
