Alternativa beläggningar — högpresterande: kunskapsöversikt
Alternative asphalt mixtures — high performance materials : literature review
Knowledge and experience in high-performance asphalt mixtures, such as polymer modified/rubber modified bitumen etcetera can lead to increased pavement service life. It would mean a saving of natural resources and construction and maintenance costs. High-performance mixtures, or using new structures could therefore be an alternative for the client to achieve the targets the government and parliament have set up. The goal was to demonstrate the benefits of sustainable mixtures from an economic and environmental perspective. The overall project includes both the acquisition of knowledge in the field, suggestions of alternative designs and high performance materials, implementation and demonstration of recent knowledge, use of reliable deterioration models and functional methods for the design and development of roads. Models and methods are valuable to create favorable conditions for the implementation of newly developed products. The conclusions from this limited overview is that there are high-performance asphalt mixtures and technologies that can lead to longer service life of roads in addition to conservation of natural resources. The concept can also mean lower costs and less environmental impact.
