Personale Voraussetzungen des Erwerbs und der Nutzung von Fahrerassistenz- und Fahrerinformationssystemen (FAS/FIS) durch aeltere Kraftfahrerinnen und –fahrer

Individual preconditions for acquiring and using driver assistance systems and driver information systems by elderly drivers

Der Anteil aelterer Menschen an der autofahrenden Bevoelkerung nimmt staendig zu. Zugleich schreitet die technologische Entwicklung im Bereich von Fahrerassistenz- und Fahrerinformationssystemen (FAS/FIS) immer weiter voran. In der Marktverbreitung und Nutzung dieser Systeme bestehen auch Potenziale fuer die Erhaltung und Steigerung einer sicheren Verkehrsteilnahme aelterer Autofahrerinnen und -fahrer. Auf Grundlage einer Befragungsstudie sollen die wesentlichen Determinanten der Akzeptanz von FAS/FIS durch AEltere identifiziert und mit ihren wechselseitigen Abhaengigkeiten in einem Modell zusammengefasst werden. Darueber hinaus werden gegenwaertige und zukuenftig zu erwartende Kauf- und Nutzungsbarrieren erfragt. Die Ergebnisse sollen fuer die Planung von Massnahmen zur Foerderung einer gezielten Marktverbreitung und Nutzung bei aktiven aelteren Fahrerinnen und Fahrern genutzt werden. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: The number of elderly people as a proportion of the whole driving public is increasing steadily. At the same time, technological progress in the field of driver assistance systems and driver information systems is also continuing apace. There is great potential in the market distribution and use of these systems for safeguarding and improving the safe participation of elderly drivers in road traffic. By using a survey of elderly drivers, this project seeks to identify the essential determinants governing the acceptance of these systems by the elderly and to summarise their mutual dependencies in a model. Furthermore, respondents will also be asked about any major current and anticipated barriers preventing the elderly from buying or using these systems. The results are intended for use in the planning of measures which will encourage a targeted market distribution and use of these systems by elderly drivers.
