Driving Safety
The focus of this chapter is driving safety and how it is influenced by driver behavior. The author begins with an exploration of demographic trends and technology trends related to driver safety. He examines crash types, crash causes, the driving process, drivers' perceptual and cognitive characteristics, driver types and common driving impairments. The chapter further explores driving as a multiobjective, multilevel control task.
