COAST GUARD 20 MAN SHIPBOARD WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
A research and development program to develop an operational 10-20 Man Shipboard Waste Treatment System was conducted. The results of Phase I, Research and Development, are presented. A preliminary design for the prototype system is also presented. The results of the laboratory model testing are analyzed and the alternative approaches compared for the filter-incinerator and secondary treatment systems. The conclusions which influenced the design of the demonstration test approach are also included. The results of the demonstration testing effort are presented in depth with supporting analyzation, data obtained, and appropriate conclusions. The preliminary design of prototype waste treatment system resulting from the research and development testing is presented with a design description of the supporting shore test facility design.
