APPLICATION OF HELICOPTERS TO MARINE SERVICES
The capabilities, limitations and cost of current and future helicopters for marine operations are reviewed. Shipborne facilities required and areas where helicopter participation may prove to be a viable proposition are described. Procedures are indicated in which routine operations may be conducted with due regard to safety considerations for both passengers and third party interests. The use of helicopters in marine emergencies is also considered.
