HYDROFOIL-EQUIPPED 30-FOOT UTILITY BOAT
The report describes a test project utilizing a 30-foot Utility Boat, Mark III, Mod. 1, provided a comparative evaluation for a class boat deployed in wide service assignments. Its objective is to determine, through engineering tests, the potential and suitability of hydrofoil craft for Coast Guard operations. Further, operating experience serves to assist in-house development of safety approval and regulation procedures involving commercial hydrofoil craft.
