RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DETECTION AND DETERRENCE
THIS PAPER DEALS WITH (1) THE PROBLEM OF ALCOHOLISM AS IT AFFECTS THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE BUT MORE DIRECTLY, DRIVERS OF MOTOR VEHICLES; (2) ITS DETECTION; COMMENTS ARE MADE ON THE DIFFICULTIES OF DETECTION BEFORE AN INCIDENT AND ON THE RELATIVELY SIMPLE PROCEDURE OF IDENTIFYING OFFENDERS AFTER A TRAFFIC INCIDENT; AND (3) DETERRENCE. THIS TAKES THE FORM OF A BEFORE-AND-AFTER STUDY WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DEALING WITH DRINKING DRIVERS.
