CHEMICAL TANKER BUILT TO MEET NEW IMCO REGULATIONS
A description of a tanker that conforms to the new IMCO regulations for the construction and equipment of ships carrying bulk cargoes of dangerous chemical substances is given. The way that the ship has satisfied the requirements is explained, with complete descriptions of both cargo and ballast tanks. Ballast handling systems, tank washing arrangements, inert gas system, machinery arrangement, and accommodation noise damping arrangements are all described and explained in the article.
