MICROBIOLOGICAL DETERIORATION OF SYNTHETIC POLYMERS AND COUNTERMEASURES (REPORTS 1, 2 AND 3 COMBINED)
For the purpose of examining the resistance of several plasticizers, stabilizers and plasticized PVC added with various fungicides to fungi, several tests using mainly mineral-salt agar medium were carried out. Accelerated deterioration tests for the determination of the resistance of PVC to fungi were made by measuring changes in tensile strength and elongation of test specimens, in addition to visual observation and measurement of weight loss. An outline of the experimental results is given in the present paper.
