THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF RAILWAY VEHICLES BY DEFORMATION OF TRACK ON A BRIDGE (SECOND REPORT) - PARTICULARY ON ANGULAR-BEND AND LATERAL RIGIDITY
The dynamic responses of railway vehicles by deformations of track on a bridge are described. As the deformation of track, the angular-bend, step-down and lateral rigidity of a bridge etc. are considered. These influence the safety of train running and riding comfort of the passenger. In the foregoing report (Vol. 13, No. 3, 1972), the angular-bend and the step-down had been shown. In this report, the results of running tests by a model freight car and the theoretical solutions for the larger angular-bend, and the lateral rigidity are described.
