AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF EARTHQUAKE RESISTANCE OF EMBANKMENT BY A LARGE-SIZE VIBRATION STAND-EXPERIMENT FOR FAILURE MECHANISM OF EMBANKMENT
Fills on weak ground are vulnerable to earthquake. Major factors causing a failure of earth fill have been revealed experimentally using a large-size vibration stand. Various anti-earthquake measures have been tried on various modes of failure. Acceleration, subsidence, pore water pressure, etc. have been investigated and the construction method has been quantitatively analyzed.
