This book is intended for engineering and technical personnel in design bureaus and shipyards and for specialists of the ocean-going fleet. It is one of the first works in shipbuilding technical literature on the air conditioning and ventilation of atomic ships. Particular attention has been paid to problems of radioactive protection on atomic ships, the purification of contaminated air, the discharging of air into the atmosphere, and the construction details of these systems. Ventilation and air conditioning problems on atomic ice-breakers are also considered. The second part of the book is based on materials from foreign sources.
