MECHANISM OF THE COMMENCEMENT OF CORRUGATION ON RAIL TREADS
MECHANISMUS VZNIKU VLNEK NA POJIZDENE PLOSE KALEINIC
The author defines the rate of plastic deformation of the loaded surface, which forms the basis of the mechanism of the commencement of corrugation. As the principal cause, the author refers to the varied effect of the sliding and rolling of the wheels on the rail, and the plastic deformation in the loaded area. Finally, he elucidates a number of constant phenomena in regard to the commencement of such corrugation, and examines the measures to be taken in order to avoid this effect.
