TRAIN HANDLING TAPE RECORDER
A magnetic tape recording system developed by Vapor Corporation has the potential of enabling far greater flexibility than the previous paper tape systems. It will record events such as speed, distance traveled, throttle position, air and dynamic brake application as measures of train performance. It also interfaces with data computers and thereby opens an entirely new dimension of both recording and evaluating how a particular train operates over a particular segment of a railroad.
