VELOCITY DISTRIBUTIONS OF ROUGH WALL TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYERS WITHOUT PRESSURE GRADIENT
Velocity defects which agree well with experimental results are calcualted, where a non-dimensional mixing length at the crest of the roughness element is used as the parameter. Roughness function can be derived by analyzing the flow near the wall, which is related to a Reynolds number based on the mixing length at the crest and the friction velocity. The relation between friction coefficient and non-dimensional mixing length is obtained which agrees with experimental results.
