MODELING OF THE PROCESSES OF MARINE PISTON ENGINES AND MACHINES
MODELIROVANIYE PROTSESSOV V SUDOVYKH PORSHNEVYKH DVIGATELYAKH I MASHINAKH
This book is intended for engineers, technicians and scientists working with marine piston engines and machines. It may also be used by specialists in other types of piston engines and machines. Similarity and modeling methods are discussed with respect to their applicability to studies of the processes of internal combustion of marine piston engines, compressors, and pumps. Equations, boundary conditions, and relationships are given for interpreting experimental data on piston engines and machines and studying their working cycles as a whole and in detail. From formulas expressed by dimensionless coordinates the characteristics of engines and machines can be calculated and practical operation methods selected. The principles and techniques of physical and electrical modeling of individual processes are also discussed. The book deals mainly with marine engines and machines and discusses diesel engines in particular, although, the modeling of other types of machines and engines is also considered.
