EXPERIMENTS WITH THE TGV 001 TURBOTRAIN
L'EXPERIMENTATION DU TURBOTRAIN TGV 001
The author describes the results obtained during the 3rd experimental phase. He explains the reasons for which these experiments were organized, as well as the prior adjustments which were necessary, due to the environment of the turbo-reactors. This latter phase is devoted to endurance tests, on the one hand, and an evaluation of performances, on the other. It should enable the following fields to be explored: maximum speeds, braking, stability, and levels of noise. Additional experiments are necessary in order to establish the phenomena of ageing and endurance in the case of a distance of 100,000 kms. They will enable the evolution of stability to be established in relation to wear on the rail tread, in the case of speeds of between 250 and 300 km/h.
