RAILROAD WEED CONTROL AND THE ECOLOGY MOVEMENT

As a result of the efforts of environmentalists, the development and use of chemical weed killers are now subject to numerous costly restrictions. Into this situation has now been injected a new factor, the Federal Environmental Pesticide Control Act of 1972. Among its many other provisions this act will have the effect of introducing uniformity into the registration of pesticides, and putting the certification of pesticide applicators under the control of the Environmental Protection Agency Administrator.
