PC HAS AUTOMATED INVOICE PREPARATION
Penn Central's Customer Accounting Center in Philadelphia has automated the conversion of waybills into customer invoices. Key to this change, which has reduced both turnaround time and labor costs, is a new machine developed by AES Technology Systems. The AES machine is a modification of the Checkmate 700 used by many banks to handle large daily flows of checks. In its original form it expedites check handling, performing up to a dozen functions per second.
