This book is intended for workers in the supply field, economists in steamship companies, workers in scientific and design organizations, captains, mates, and ship engineers. A detailed description is presented for the method of material and technical supply used in the national economy of the USSR and the ocean fleet. The classification of products, equipment, and fuel used by organizations and enterprises of the ocean fleet is also considered. Particular attention has been paid to problems of organizing, planning, and cost estimating materials and technical supply. A series of recommendations for improving the system of material and technical supply and the work of organizations supplying the ocean fleet is given.
