SPECIAL RAIL CARS FOR AGGREGATE MOVEMENT
A ballast car built by Bethlehem Steel Corporation, the DIFCO air side dump car, a seventy-ton covered cement hopper car modified into a "poor man's aggregate car" by Illinois Central Railroad, the Ortner "Rapid Discharge" car, and two 2,100 cubic foot standard twin hopper cars, built by Greenville Steel Car Company, are described. Pictures and diagrams are included.
