Bio-inspired Routing Protocols for Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks
This book focuses on the idea of how to apply bio-inspired principles into Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANET) routing to improve road safety and to ensure Quality of Service (QoS) of VANET applications. The book describes how VANETs play a key role in developing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). In addition to improving transportation productivity, VANETs aim to achieve road safety and guarantee the needs of drivers and passengers. One of the most important challenges of these kind of networks is the data routing between VANET nodes which need to be routed with a high level of QoS to ensure receiving messages in real time. Chapters include: Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks; Routing for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks; Conventional Routing Protocols for Vanets; and Bio-Inspired Routing Protocols for Vanets.
